RIGA - During the next winter season, Latvia will have sufficient energy resources, but the question is for what price, said Saeima national security committee chairman Maris Kucinskis in an interview with the Latvian public television today.
The lawmakers said that the price is important not only in respect to natural gas, but also timber, which is seeing a price hike.
He said that the price hike will affect not only the poor people, but also the so-called middle class, therefore he supports price caps for energy resource prices.
Kucinskis said that the government has a way to reduce also excise tax on fuel, thus, lowering the price of this resource.
