RIGA - Latvia will get involved in the discussion on NATO's new strategic development concept, President Egils Levits said today during a meeting with NATO's Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy Baiba Braze.
As LETA was told at the president's office, Levits met with Braze in Riga Castle today to discuss the Alliance's current affairs.
The conversation focused on the organization's strategic development concept NATO 2030, stressing the necessity for Latvia's involvement in the discussion on the concept, considering modern security challenges. The president noted that Latvia is interested in taking an active part in the discussion on the strategic concept.
As Levits and Braze turned their attention to the situation in Belarus, the president underlined that the international community should demand a repeat, free and fair presidential election in Belarus.
Braze noted NATO's involvement in combating the Covid-19 pandemic through cooperation with the UN, as well as the fight against disinformation.
