Latvia’s Welfare Ministry is planning a number of measures to increase pensions, which will cost dozens of millions of euros, according to what Welfare Minister Ramona Petravica (KPV LV) told Saeima Social and Employment Matters Committee said on March 19.
The minister said that because of limited financing, these measures would have to be implemented over the course of several years. The measures are still to be debated, therefore the minister declined to say what additional financing she was expecting to receive from the 2020 state budget.
