Latvia’s Welfare Ministry plans to increase pensions, but the state coffers are shallow

Latvia’s Welfare Ministry is planning a number of measures to increase pensions, which will cost dozens of millions of euros, according to what Welfare Minister Ramona Petravica (KPV LV) told Saeima Social and Employment Matters Committee said on March 19. The minister said that because of limited financing, these measures would have to be implemented over the course of several years.
