Latvia's Parliamentary Speaker calls for re-introduction of conscription

During a meeting of two Baltic Assembly committees in Rezekne, Latvian Parliamentary Speaker Inara Murniece, has said Latvia should consider re-introducing military conscription in light of Russian aggression in the Baltic region.  Latvia is the sole Baltic country to have not re-introduced conscription since the Kremlin’s annexation of Crimea in 2014. "We see the Kremlin flexing its military muscles, and they are trying to hurt us through hybrid warfare, which includes economic levers and propaganda,” said Murniece. ...
