RIGA - During the third quarter of this year, Latvia recorded the second-fastest annual drop in employment among the European Union’s member states, according to the latest Eurostat data.
As in Estonia, the number of employed people against Latvia’s entire population decreased by 1.1 per cent in the third quarter of 2016. The steepest drop (1.4 per cent) was recorded in Romania and employment in Bulgaria declined by 1 per cent year-on-year.
