Latvia is unwavering in its support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity

RIGA - On February 20, recalling the tragic events that took place during Euromaidan in 2014, as well as Russia’s military activities within Ukrainian territory seven years ago, Latvia reiterates its unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

LETA learned from the Latvian Foreign Ministry that together with the international community, Latvia has consistently condemned and stood up against the illegal activities and violations of international law performed by the Russian Federation with the intent of undermining Ukraine’s sovereignty, and Latvia shall be steadfast in maintaining the policy of non-recognition till the territory will be returned to Ukraine. Latvia will also continue to offer assistance to Ukraine in its reform process and to support Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

On February 26, the Day of Resistance to occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol will be marked.
