RIGA - On June 13, a delegation from the Latvian Foreign Ministry, led by Under-Secretary of State - Political Director Andzejs Vilumsons, participated in the 5th Political Consultations in Bogota, Colombia, LETA learned from the ministry.
Latvian and Colombian officials expressed their willingness to develop cooperation in higher education, forestry, information and communication technologies.
They discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in international organizations, in particular the UN. Vilumsons thanked Colombia for its strong support for the principles of the UN Charter and Ukraine's territorial integrity. During the meeting, officials also discussed the current situation in Latin America and the Caribbean.
During the visit, the Latvian delegation met with the deputy head of the UN Verification Mission in Colombia, the deputy head of the Delegation of the European Union to Colombia and ambassadors of some EU member states.
