Latvia earmarks EUR 14.87 million to compensate farmers

The government of Latvia has approved allocating EUR 14.87 million from the government's emergency funds to compensate farmers for damage caused by floods this past August and September, the Cabinet of Ministers informed. According to the Agriculture Ministry, farmers who had their crops, vegetables, hay, or apiaries damaged by floods will be inspected by sexperts from Latvian Rural Advisory and Training Center or Rural Support Service.
