Latvia delays proposal about allowances for refugees with jobs

Due to objections by the Justice Ministry, Latvia’s ruling coalition has put off the discussion of a proposal to pay allowances to refugees with jobs which the government was expected to review this week. The Interior Ministry had suggested paying allowances also to refugees or individuals with alternative status after they had gotten jobs but the Justice Ministry had raised objections to the proposal, Janis Dombrava (National Alliance) told the press after the meeting of the ruling coalition parties.
