Latvia backs criminalisation of unauthorised service in foreign armed forces

The Latvian government on Aug. 9 approved draft amendments to the Criminal Law criminalising unauthorised service in foreign countries’ armed forces and various military or security services. The ban, however, will not apply to individuals serving in the armed forces of EU and NATO member states.
