RIGA - One of the areas of cooperation between Latvia and Italy could be military medicine, where Italy could share its experience, Italian Ambassador Alessandro Monti said today at a meeting with Health Minister Hosams Abu Meri (New Unity).
As the Health Ministry informed LETA, during the meeting, the parties discussed the current issues and challenges in the field of healthcare in both countries.
The health minister admitted that Latvia needs to improve its healthcare system and that we are interested in the good examples of other countries in the issues of digitization and data quality, as well as in the management of the system.
Cooperation between Latvia and Italy in the field of healthcare takes place through bilateral cooperation between university hospitals in the fields of medicine and pharmacy, as well as education. Monti pointed out that one of the areas of cooperation could be military medicine, where Italy could share its experience.
