RIGA - Saeima speaker Inara Murniece (National Alliance) today met with Israeli Ambassador to Latvia Sharon Rappaport Palgi and discussed preparation of the agreement on recognizing double citizenship.

Murniece said that Latvia is interested to continue an active parliamentary doalogue with Israel in order to promote better mutual awareness on issues important for both parties.

Murniece and the ambassador discussed possibilities to deepen the political dialogue ahead of the 30th anniversary since establishment of the diplomatic relations between both countries in 2022. Murniece proposed to strengthen cooperation between both parliament and ministries, especially in economics, education and culture.

The ambassador voiced interest in the role of women in Latvia's society and politics and Latvia's experience in gender equality.
