Latvia and Georgia to cooperate closer in fight against organized crime

RIGA - Latvian Interior Minister Rihards Kozlovskis (Unity) in Tbilisi met with his Georgian counterpart Georgy Mgebrishvili, and signed a declaration on cooperation between both countries.

As the Latvian Interior Ministry informed, considering Georgia’s euro integration aspirations, and in order to strengthen Latvian-Georgian bilateral cooperation, both countries will cooperate in the fight against severe crimes and organized crime, promote cooperation and experience exchange among the police, Border Guard, and other law enforcement institutions.

Kozlovskis said during a signing of the declaration that it is another proof of Latvia’s support to Georgia’s euro integration aspirations, and Latvia is ready to share its experience in strengthening Europe’s values, democracy, the rule of law and human rights principles in every sector.

The Latvian Minister also participated in the Georgian Police Day events.
