Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia to cooperate in providing consular assistance in EU member states and third countries

RIGA - Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia will cooperate in providing consular assistance in the EU member states and the third countries, according to an agreement that will be signed at the Baltic Council of Ministers on December 6.

The government today supported the regulations prepared by the Foreign Ministry on consular assistance and cooperation. The agreement stipulates that Latvian citizens and non-citizens have the rights to receive consular assistance in the countries where there is no Latvian diplomatic and consular representation.

The agreement provides for the rights of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia to cooperation in providing consular assistance not only in the third countries, but also in the EU member states.
