RIGA - Ministers of Latvia’s National Alliance will not participate in March 16 commemoration events in Riga when Latvia remembers its Legionnaires, the Latvian soldiers who served in the Latvian Waffen-SS Legion and fought on the side of Germany in World War II, BNS learned.
Baiba Kaulina, the spokeswoman for Culture Minister Dace Melbarde said that the minister will attend a commemorative event in Lestene cemetery if her work duties allow such a visit.
