VILNIUS - The Lithuanian parliament's Labour Party group will on Wednesday summon Chief of Defense Jonas Vytautas Zukas over expensive purchases for the Armed Forces.
"Instead of earmarking the money for higher pensions and wages, we have been raising defense spending over the past years, as it seemed a much needed and crucial decision at the time. However, the army's decision to overpay for kitchen utensils eight times seems unfair with regard to our people," the group's leader MP Kestutis Dauksys has remarked.
