Kucinskis displeased about failure of tender for new head of KNAB

RIGA - Prime Minister Maris Kucinskis (Greens/Farmers) is unpleasantly surprised by an unsuccessful tender which was supposed to yield a new leader for the Corruption Prevention Bureau (KNAB) and has vowed to discuss the situation with the commission that evaluated the candidates for the job. Kucinskis’ spokesman Andrejs Vaivars told BNS that Kucinskis hopes to talk with the commission’s head, State Chancellery director Martins Krievins, in addition to its other members if need be.
