Karins wishes the public to be responsible and far-sighted on Independence Day

RIGA - Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) wishes the publi to be responsible and far-sighted this Independence Day.

In his celebratory address, the Prime Minister admits that the challenge for the generation 102 years ago was to physically win the independence of Latvia, which they achieved. He also says that 30 years ago we had to regain the independence of our country, and we succeeded.

"The challenge of today's generation is the Covid-19 pandemic, which we will overcome - with the responsibility and action of each citizen, because we have the strength. We will overcome this pandemic to further build our common future. Let us be responsible, let us be forward-looking. Lets work for Latvia!" stressed the Prime Minister.

Karins also wished everyone a peaceful holiday, adding that we will "overcome these times because we will stay united".
