Karins to take part in informal meeting of EU foreign ministers on Israel and Middle East

RIGA - Foreign Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) will next Monday, November 20, will take part an informal meeting of the European Union's (EU) foreign ministers on the situation in Israel and the Middle East, LETA was told at the Foreign Ministry. 

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, has called the meeting to inform the ministers about his visits to the region in the past few days, and to continue an exchange of views on how to strengthen the EU’s involvement in the resolution of the crisis.

The meeting meeting is arranged to take place over a video link.  

As reported, on October 7, the Hamas terrorist group October launched a major attack on Israel, killing around 1,400 people, wounding thousands of others and taking more than 240 people hostage. Since October 7, Israeli forces have been constantly attacking Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip from air, ground and the sea, inflicting a heavy toll on Palestinian civilians who live in Gaza.
