Karins to participate in Baltic Council of Ministers meeting in Tallinn on Friday

RIGA - Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) will participate in a meeting of the Baltic Council of Ministers in Tallinn on Friday, February 7, the prime minister's press secretary Sandris Sabajevs told LETA.

The meeting, which will also be attended by the Baltic countries' transport ministers, will focus on implementation of the Rail Baltica railway infrastructure project.

The Baltic premiers will also discuss regional energy projects and meet with European Commissioner for Budget and Administration Johannes Hahn to discuss the European Union's multi-annual budget.

The Baltic Council of Ministers, established on June 13, 1994, is an institution for intergovernmental cooperation among Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. Estonia is the Baltic Council of Ministers presiding country this year.
