Karins to meet with Finnish president, prime minister this week

RIGA - Latvian Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) on February 12 will meet with Finnish President Sauli Niinisto and Prime Minister Sanna Marin during his working visit to Helsinki, LETA learned from the prime minister's office.

During the meeting with the Finnish officials, Karins plans to discuss bilateral relations and ways to improve cooperation in economy, transport, energy and security both between the two countries and on a regional level.

Karins, Niinisto and Marin will discuss the current EU matters, including priorities in the multiannual budget, the climate policy and geopolitical situation in the region and the world.

The Latvian prime minister will visit the European center of excellence for the fight against hybrid threats located in Helsinki.
