Riga 17th September 2019, the International Women's Club of Riga (IWCR) Charity Bazaar 2019 will be held at the Radisson Blu Hotel Latvija, Elizabetes iela 55 in Riga on Sunday, 24th of November. It is the largest multicultural event in Riga each year where 40 nationalities are represented. In attendance each year are thousands of people from the local and international community. There is no cost for entrance, and unlimited opportunities to explore delights from around the world.

“Support your local community and charities at this year’s Bazaar, where shoppers have the opportunity to buy unique items from all over the world. The Charity Bazaar is about appreciating individuality, creativity, connecting different cultures, nations and giving conscious holiday shoppers an alternative to the mall.” said Liga Kukaine, IWCR President. “Local residents and visitors from the international community love the opportunity to meet with different people from around the globe and hear their story.”

The Charity Bazaar is held by the International Women’s Club of Riga, and supported by foreign ambassadors with their families, and a strong international community. It presents a cross-national cultural experience, and an opportunity to taste typical food and drinks, as well as purchase original gifts for friends and family – handicrafts, toys, handmade items, delicacies from all around the world– a perfect choice for Christmas Shopping.

Thanks to the songs from children's choirs and the festive atmosphere, the Charity Bazaar has become very popular with the local community attending to enjoy the international experience. Notable local officials also join, and last year, President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis and First Lady of Latvia Iveta Vējone attended, bought gifts and chatted with guests and volunteers.

“With more than 150 participating vendors, from Embassies, Charities, Handcrafters, live musical performances from local schools, drinks and food, even if you don’t go home with a new purse or piece of art, you will most definitely leave with wonderful impression of what it means to shop at an international fair. There’s even a substantial tombola and silent auction, consisting of products generously donated by vendors”, says Kerstin Steinberg, Bazaar Organizer and Board member of IWCR.

Each year the International Women’s Club of Riga (IWCR) arranges the Charity Bazaar to raise money for Latvian charities. In 2018 this one event raised over €45,000 which is now being carefully distributed amongst our fourteen selected Latvian charities for specific projects and needs. The Charity Bazaar will take place on Sunday, 24th November 2019 from 11:00 to 16:00, at Radisson Blu Hotel Latvija, Elizabetes iela 55, Riga. Admission to the Bazaar is free of charge. Don’t forget to follow IWCR on Facebook (/IWCRiga). Additional information: [email protected] or www.iwcr.lv

ABOUT IWCR

The International Women’s Club of Riga is an international group of women offering friendship and supporting local charities. Together, we take the opportunity to learn about Latvian culture, and, through our charity work, to give something back to the local community.

Our charity work is very close to our hearts. Throughout the year we support different charity associations both in Riga and the Latvian countryside. The IWCR members seek to raise funds to provide support and financial assistance for charities. Our primary focus is on helping families, mothers, the elderly and abused both in Riga and the Latvian countryside.

Our annual Charity Bazaar raises money, which we are proud to give back to the local community by working with over fourteen different local Latvian charities. Find more details about the charities IWCR supports:
