RIGA - Hungary has made a serious strategic mistake by increasing its dependence on Russian energy resources, and the consequences of this policy are currently visible, Polish President Andrzej Duda said today at the Latvia and Poland: Countering Today's Challenges Together discussion.

He points out that Hungary's foreign policy due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine is largely related to dependence on Russian energy resources.

Duda says that the consequences of this dependence are currently visible, adding that Hungary's position is not only related to dependence on Russian energy resources.

"I see that there are other facts that I do not understand and sometimes are not even acceptable," emphasizes Duda, expressing regret that Hungary had not made changes in the internal market to reduce the influence from Russia.
