International technology group Huawei registered private limited company Huawei Technologies Eesti to continue supplying consumer electronics and telecommunications equipment as a local company.

The private limited company, which currently employs 15 people and has a share capital of 300,000 euros, will take over Huawei’s current operations in Estonia. “We are planning to increase all of Huawei’s business segments, which we can do best as an Estonian company considering the long-term expectations of the company’s shareholders,” said CEO of Huawei Technologies Eesti Chang Bin.

The business, which had been managed from neighbouring countries for 12 years, received a fresh boost in the eyes of the Huawei management due to the projected market development. The open discussion held upon the introduction of new technologies confirmed the understanding that freedom to conduct a business will be maintained in the area of telecommunications.

“Huawei intends to contribute to the development of information technology as well as the society in cooperation with Estonian universities and engineers,” said Chang Bin. “We’re offering Estonian IT students new experiences with the Seeds of Future programme by allowing them to study at the Huawei headquarters in Shenzhen and at the Beijing Research Centre.”

Huawei Technologies Eesti supports the SOS Children’s Village established to support children and families.

The establishment of Huawei Technologies Eesti OÜ will be introduced to the press today at 15 o’clock at the Creative Hub: CEO Chang Bin, Country Sales Director Alar Heikla and Huawei Northern Region PR Manager Marco Xu.

The discussion “How will Estonia reach next generation communications technology?” will be held from 16:05-16:45 and the participants are Dean of the School of IT of Tallinn University of Technology Gert Jervan, economist Robert Kitt, member of the management board of Testilo OÜ Kristel Kruustük, member of the Riigikogu Valdo Randpere and CEO of Elisa Eesti AS Sami Seppänen.
