Health Ministry proposes shortening ambulance response time

The Health Ministry has proposed shortening the ambulance response time from 15 minutes to 12 minutes in Latvia’s cities, according to the draft regulations for the organization of healthcare services endorsed on Monday by the Cabinet of Ministers committee. Under the current regulation, the Emergency Medical Service’s ambulance brigades are expected to respond to 75 percent of callouts over life-threatening situations within 15 minutes in cities and towns and within 25 minutes in all other territories.
