TALLINN – The Tallinn helpline received 75 reports related to the storm that raged over the weekend, while AS Tallinna Linnatransport (TLT), the company responsible for maintaining the capital's street lighting, received an additional 43 reports of various incidents.

Deputy Mayor Kristjan Järvan noted that Tallinn has effective cooperation in place with both city agencies and contractual partners for such weather-related situations. "During and after the storm, the primary focus was on public safety and the rapid elimination of hazardous situations. Information about all failures promptly reached the responsible services, and work is currently underway to ensure all situations are resolved," Järvan said.

Most of the reports received by the Tallinn helpline were related to fallen trees (34 reports) and loose roof sheets, posters, trash cans, traffic signs, and other flying objects (30 reports). Eleven reports were related to street lighting.

TLT was notified 17 times about non-working lights, damaged poles, and fallen trees or branches on power lines. In 25 cases, circuit breakers in switching and distribution equipment had tripped. Additionally, an incident was recorded on Auli street where two poles belonging to Elektrilevi, which also support the outdoor lighting network, broke. Elektrilevi OÜ is handling their repair.

The hazardous situations have been resolved, and the remaining cleanup work is ongoing. If anyone notices further storm damage in public spaces, they can report it to the Tallinn helpline at 14 410.
