The Harmony Party took over power in Latvia’s second largest city Daugavpils as Andrejs Elksnins, the leader of Harmony Party’s list in recent local elections in Daugavpils, was elected the city’s mayor on Tuesday, June 27.
In Daugavpils, Harmony has formed the ruling coalition with local businessman Rihards Eigims’ Our Party, leaving former mayor Janis Lacplesis’ Latgale Party in opposition.
