Hansab Group, an Estonian-origin international technology and services company, has acquired a majority stake in Estonian IT infrastructure and cybersecurity company Replicant IT, thereby entering the IT infrastructure and services business in the Baltics and Finland.
According to Hansab Group Chairman of the Board Janno Kallikorm, the transaction represents a landmark step for the company, marking a logical move into the IT infrastructure and services market from a growth perspective. "The Replicant IT team has built a company whose technological competence and European technology-centered value proposition aligns excellently with Hansab's long-term vision and with our clients' current needs. This transaction will enable us to offer clients a more comprehensive and even more integrated service across the Baltics and Finland," Kallikorm added.
Following the transaction, Replicant IT and Hansab Group's existing IT services teams will be merged into a single unit, creating significantly broader capability to support both current and future clients. Replicant IT will continue to operate as an independent company under its own brand and value proposition. Company founders Tauno Telvik and Janno Jõgisu will continue actively in their current roles: Tauno Telvik as CEO and board member, Janno Jõgisu as network architect. Hansab Group CEO Janno Kallikorm will join the Replicant IT board.
"Joining Hansab Group gives Replicant IT the opportunity to advance our important mission at an accelerated pace and at greater scale. The market has sent us a clear signal — there is an acute need for European-origin information technology and digital sovereignty. And that need is growing. Hansab's belief in our mission, demonstrated by this transaction, allows us to meet clients' current and future expectations," said Replicant IT CEO and co-founder Tauno Telvik.
European technology as a competitive advantage
Replicant IT's mission is to help clients reduce the strategic risks arising from IT dependencies by offering IT infrastructure and cybersecurity technologies developed in Europe, paired with proactive managed services. "In geopolitically turbulent times, European-origin technology has become an increasingly important source of competitive advantage and resilience for organizations," Telvik noted.
Kallikorm confirmed that for Replicant IT's existing clients, day-to-day contacts and the content of current services will remain unchanged, while new opportunities will open through the expanded team's competence, faster response times, and Hansab Group's international experience across nearby markets. "Hansab Group's clients will in turn have the opportunity to source IT infrastructure and cybersecurity technology and services through their existing partner, in addition to the services already available to them," Kallikorm added.
