PET bottles collected in Lithuania through the deposit system are now recycled in Romania. But soon it will be done in Lithuania as well, the Lietuvos Ryas daily reported.
"We sell PET to one of the largest processors of secondary raw materials in Europe. Now, they take the bought bottles to their production plant in Romania but they will soon start recycling in Lithuania as well. It’s Greentech which has invested into our country," Gintaras Varnas, head of Uzstato Sistemos Administratorius, the operator of the deposit system in Lithuania, said.
