RIGA - The government is planning to allow outdoor proms, provided that no more than 30 people participate in a prom, sources told LETA.

The pending amendments to the Cabinet Regulation on Epidemiological Safety Measures for the Containment of the Spread of COVID-19 Infection stipulate that graduates from one class in a primary or secondary school or university may participate in outdoor proms for up to 30 people, including school or university employees.

Proms may continue for up to two hours. If two-meter distancing cannot be maintained, prom participants will have to wear face masks.

The government will vote on the amendments tomorrow, May 27.
