French consider building memorial to POWs in Lithuania’s Curonian Spit

VILNIUS - The French are considering building a memorial to their compatriots who died in prisoner of war camps in the Curonian Spit during the 19th century. An official French delegation, including Philippe Jeantaud, the French ambassador to Lithuania, and Lieutenant Colonel Alain Moulia, the defense attache, visited the so-called Valley of Death near Nida for the first time last weekend.
