RIGA - Riga city lawmaker and former State Police chief Ints Kuzis has passed away, LETA learned from the New Unity group at the Riga City Council.
According to LETA archives, Kuzis was born in 1962.
In 1982 he started work in the interior structures as a police officer in Jelgava. In 1999 he was appointed the deputy chief of the Criminal Police in Riga, and in 2003 he was appointed the chief of the Riga Criminal Police.
In 2009 he was granted the rank of a general and in 2011 he was appointed the State Police chief and worked in this position until 2020.
In 2020 he ran for the snap Riga City Council elections from the list of New Unity.
