RIGA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) calls on Latvian nationals to leave the territory of Lebanon as soon as possible, according to information on the Ministry's website.
In view of the ongoing security tensions in the Middle East region, as well as the escalation between Israel and the Hezbullah group in southern Lebanon, the Ministry warns against visiting Lebanon at this time.
The Ministry notes that Latvia does not have diplomatic or consular representation in Lebanon. When visiting Lebanon, the Ministry also urges people follow the advice and travel warnings of other European Union (EU) member states and allies.
As Latvia does not have a diplomatic and consular mission in Lebanon, consular assistance can be obtained from the missions of other EU member states. The Ministry notes that the travel warning is of recommendatory in nature.
