For the first time in Latvia, a woman goes on paternity leave

RIGA - For the first time in Latvia, a woman is going on a ten-day paternity leave which until now was granted to fathers after the birth of a child.  The woman in question, Evita Gosa, said on Twitter that after the Constitutional Court in November found the regulation denying parental leave for the same-sex partner of a newborn's mother unconstitutional, she became the first woman in Latvia's history to go on paternal leave under Section 155 of the Labor Law.
