As the darkest and coldest months of the year approach, the energy commodities trader and convenience store network AS Virši-A (hereinafter – Virši) invites to boost your energy by enjoying a freshly roasted coffee and donating to charity at the same time. From 20 November to 6 January, when buying any hot coffee drink in the special SOS Children’s Villages cups, 3 cents from each purchase will be donated to support SOS Children’s Villages.
“Our aim is to help children without parental care to receive the love and support of relatives that each of us needs. That is why this autumn we have started long-term cooperation with the SOS Children’s Villages Association by providing our financial and informational support. Our customers also have the opportunity to help. In the coming months, while enjoying their favourite Virši coffee, everyone can be sure that they are taking a small step towards fulfilling a child’s dream of a loving family,” said Jānis Vība, Chairman of the Board of Virši, inviting everyone to get involved in donation activities.
You can also support SOS Children’s Villages by donating in special donation boxes at Virši stations or by making a monthly donation on the charity’s website www.sosbernuciemati.lv.
The visuals on the coffee cups and in the information materials for the donation campaign have been created in collaboration with the children living in the SOS Children’s Villages. To inspire others to do good, children drew themselves doing good deeds by helping adults, caring for animals and nature or playing sports.
“The Latvian SOS Children’s Villages Association not only helps children who have been left without parental care on a daily basis by caring for them in SOS families and supporting foster families, adoptive families and guardians, but also provides preventive services to families with children who have faced different types of challenges. The “Having a baby” programme is very supportive, providing emotional and informational support from EFA or Emotional First Aid for Mothers to parents of newborns. That is why we are happy about the coffee campaign launched by Virši, within the framework of which we are planning to direct the funds raised for the implementation of this programme, because support for parents of newborns is very necessary and the programme is currently in great demand,” says Ilze Paleja, Director of Latvian SOS Children’s Villages Association.
Donations are voluntary and you can find out more about the support opportunities at https://www.virsi.lv/lv/privatpersonam/sosbernuciemati. Doing good together is even better, so everyone is invited to participate and find the best way to help those who need it so much right now.
