TALLINN - On December 16, Vijay Sirse, Chairman of the Management Board of Pärnu P2X Hub OÜ, and Riivo Tuvike, Chairman of the Management Board of AS Tallinna Lennujaam, will present plans for the first e-methanol plant in the Baltics, slated to be built on the territory of Pärnu Airport. The event will take place at 11 a.m. in the conference room of the Hampton by Hilton hotel in Tallinn.

Singaporean energy company Destiny Energy, backed by the Tolaram Group, plans to establish an e-methanol plant in Pärnu. The project will be carried out by the company's Estonian subsidiary, Pärnu P2X Hub. Production is scheduled to begin in 2028.

The investment amounts to 72 million euros, of which 8.6 million euros will come from an EU fund. The goal is to produce up to 10,000 tons of e-methanol annually, which can be used primarily as shipping fuel. The project will create 25-30 permanent and 150 temporary jobs. The plant will be supplied with green energy from a 51 MW solar park to be built on-site, in addition to a 10 MW grid connection and a planned nearby wind farm.
