Several hundred people assembled in Vilnius this afternoon to commemorate 76 years of the US Sumner Welles declaration, which criticised the occupation of the Baltic nations by the USSR.
"When we celebrate our freedom and such symbolic events, we are able to better understand those who are fighting for their freedom today," Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius declared at the event.
