VILNIUS - Facebook says it has expanded its fact-checking program to Lithuania and another four countries ahead of next month's European Parliament elections.
The social network has recently announced the expansion of the program in the EU with five new local fact-checking partners in Lithuania, Croatia, Greece, Northern Ireland and Portugal.
"These organizations will review and rate the accuracy of content on Facebook," it said in a press release, adding that the fact-checking partners were accredited by the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN).
The Lithuanian partner is the 15min online news site.
