VILNIUS - Ex-Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis on Monday became a member of the Advisory Board of the Munich Security Conference, his spokeswoman Paulina Levickyte, told BNS.

The Advisory Council helps to maintain and advance the high quality of the annual Munich Security Conference and the MSC's other events. It advises the MSC Chairman on strategic decisions, thematic focus, and partnership development.

The Council is made up of prominent political and public figures, including former EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, former Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid, former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi and others.

Landsbergis stepped down as chairman of the conservative Homeland Union - Lithuanian Christian Democrats after the party's unsuccessful participation in the general election in October last year, and later launched a podcast on geopolitics and currently writes regular commentaries on his blog.
