The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages in Lithuania were among the lowest in the European Union, the latest figures from the EU statistics service, Eurostat, show.
In 2018, the price level of a comparable basket of food and non-alcoholic beverages stood at 82 percent of the EU average in Lithuania, with prices lower only in Poland (69 percent), Romania (66 percent) and Bulgaria (76 percent).
The price levels for alcoholic beverages stood at 94 percent of the EU average in Lithuania, and those of tobacco amount to 63 percent of the EU average....
