Present-day developments in Europe represent possibly the greatest challenge the continent has confronted since World War Two, Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics (Unity) told BNS.
Rinkevics indicated that EU foreign ministers reached this conclusion at their meeting in Brussels on Monday as they discussed the terrorism which has taken place in France and Belgium over the last year and a half, migration, Brexit, as well as the numerous situations in the bloc's eastern and southern neighbourhood.
