RIGA - EUR 40.9 million are available for construction of local roads this year, including EUR 9.6 million available from the Recovery Fund, LETA learned from the Transport Ministry.
The funding has been earmarked for repair, renovation of road surface in a total stretch of 140 kilometers.
This year, different reconstruction works are planned in 42 sections of local roads in Latvia.
Also, reconstruction of 11 bridges and overpasses on local roads are planned, investing EUR 6.92 million.
In the 2023 budget, in total EUR 740.3 million are earmarked for the Transport Ministry's sectoral development, including EUR 308 million from the EU funds.
