TALLINN - Estonian Tax and Customs Board warns of fake messages that are being disseminated on Facebook and are seemingly written on behalf of the tax authority.
The fake notification announces in broken Estonian that the person's tax return does not comply with standards.
The notifications are not sent by the Tax and Customs Board, the tax authority said.
"We would also like to point out that there is a spelling mistake in the name and that we do not contact customers via Facebook. With regard to tax returns, we communicate with customers via the e-Tax portal. We would ask to ignore the notification and, in order to ensure security, not to respond to it," the Tax and Customs Board said.
