Estonian president attending pre-event of Munich Security Conference

TALLINN - Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid is participating in a strategic forum launched to prepare for the Munich Security Conference on Sunday and Monday.

Kaljulaid, who is on a working visit to Germany is attending the strategy forum of the conference to be held next year. The forum will bring together a small number of American and European opinion leaders, current and former politicians and think-tank representatives. This year's forum will focus on transatlantic cooperation and challenges faced by Europe, the office of the president said. 

The Munich Security Conference represents the most important discourse on security and foreign policy between Europe and North America. The organisation team of the conference has been arranging the strategy forum, which is intended as a preparatory event for a smaller circle of participants, since 2015. The Estonian president is taking part in the event for a third time.
