TALLINN - Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal arrived in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on Monday morning, where he is about to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Verkhovna Rada speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
The Estonian head of government will also open an Estonia-Ukraine business forum.
Michal said Estonia's message is clear: Ukraine's victory will be a victory for Europe, the United States and the democratic world as a whole. This means that support for Ukraine must continue to be one of the priorities of the free world.
"No decision on the future of Ukraine can be made without them," he said.
"Russia's attacks have caused significant damage to Ukraine's energy system, which has unfortunately affected the country as a whole. The winter will be harsh and we need to offer them all the support we can. Estonia's next aid shipment of turbines, generators and transformers will arrive here within a month at the latest," Michal said.
In addition, Michal will meet with Ukraine's Digital Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. He will also lay a wreath at the Wall of Remembrance.
The prime minister is accompanied on the visit by an Estonian business delegation consisting of executives from about a dozen companies active in the domain of cybersecurity.
