Estonian parlt approves temporary changes to sick day compensation scheme

TALLINN - The Estonian parliament passed on Wednesday a bill of amendments whereby workers are to only cover one of their sick days instead of the current three, and employers are to compensate the subsequent four days instead of five. The bill was supported by 93 MPs at the vote. The responsibility of the Health Insurance Fund will increase -- the fund will compensate sickness benefits starting from day six of sick leave.
