TALLINN - Estonian Minister of Culture Heidy Purga is to take part in a meeting of Nordic, Baltic, and Ukrainian culture ministers in Helsinki on Tuesday, focusing on developing cooperation to protect cultural heritage during times of crisis.

"In Estonia, we view cultural heritage as part of national resilience. It is not just something to protect and preserve -- it is also something to share. The goal of aggression is to erase identity, and in resisting it, we believe in the power of storytelling -- including through new media that is increasingly important to younger generations. This creates a personal and emotional connection between the new generation and our heritage, helping embed our cultural legacy into global cultural awareness," Purga said.

In addition, the Estonian minister will visit the Nordic Culture Point in Helsinki together with Finnish Minister of Science and Culture Mari-Leena Talvitie. The Nordic Culture Point is an institution of the Nordic Council of Ministers that supports Nordic cooperation in the cultural sector and raises awareness of Nordic culture in Finland.
