TALLINN - Estonian Conservative People's Party (EKRE) member and MEP Jaak Madison has turned to the police regarding a Facebook comment in which the commenter said that the politician should be "beaten to death".

"I filed a report with the police so that every fool would not make noise and call for someone to be beaten to death. I would like to remind that, for example, six years ago, a person who threatened Taavi Roivas was sentenced to two years' imprisonment, of which two months had to be served immediately," Madison said.

"A person by the name of Aivar Viira may have committed an offense under subsection 1 of section 151 of the Penal Code by calling for me to be beaten to death. Given that the appeal was made on a social media page with a high following and the appeal is not ambiguous, he has called for violence that has created a realistic threat to my health and life," Madison wrote in the report filed with the police.

"This Madisson is a henchman of the Kremlin and needs to be beaten to death", the commenter wrote on Madison's Facebook wall. There, he used two "s" letters when writing Madison's name.
