Estonian government to create EU minister-like post for EU presidency

Matti Maasikas, the previous permanent representative of Estonia to the European Union who was recalled in May, is to become a special envoy to the EU with a political mandate, the daily Eesti Paevaleht reports. When the present government was being established and also afterwards it had been said that during Estonia's 2018 EU presidency a post of the so-called EU minister would need to be set up to take on part of the workload of the government connected to the presidency.
