Estonian formin to discuss impact of war on Europe with NATO colleagues

TALLINN - Estonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Eva-Maria Liimets is to discuss the impact of the war launched by Russia against Ukraine on Europe with NATO foreign ministers in Brussels and take part in an extraordinary meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council.

Liimets will be in Brussels on Friday where NATO foreign affairs ministers together with the representatives of Finland, Sweden and the EU are to discuss the impact of Russia's war on Europe's security as well as ways for helping Ukraine and also other states, spokespeople for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

An extraordinary meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council will be held in the afternoon to be joined by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Melanie Joly, British Foreign Minister Elizabeth Truss with Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba participating virtually. The meeting will focus on assisting Ukraine and on ways how to exert stronger pressure on Russia to terminate hostilities.
